Our Word Family Emergent Readers & Slideshows can be downloaded with a click of a button! Emergent readers are perfect for students learning to read. Even though we use a set of phonics readers, it can be beneficial at times to change things up. A printable handheld booklet can be doodled in or shared with friends. They make an educational, yet fun activity for a young small group. The Homeschool Daily offers 10 Word Family Emergent Readers. Check them out for yourself! Don’t forget to check out our other emergent readers!
Each reader is uploaded individually as a PDF. You will need to adjust your printer settings before printing your handheld readers. I prefer to print our emergent readers 2-sheets to a page. You will want to make sure your printer settings are also set to portrait and not landscape. Some of our readers are designed in color, while others were created using only black and white ClipArt. In our homeschool, the colored emergent readers make great slideshows. We have read the colored emergent readers countless times as online books. They are also resourceful and effective when working with a preschool or kindergarten classroom.
