Anatomy of a Bird Worksheets

Anatomy of a Bird Worksheets

One part of our Bird Unit is the study of a bird’s anatomy. During this part of our investigation, we discover some key vocabulary that is usually associated with the body of a bird. For instance, we discuss where the crown is on a bird and where and what the breast is. Studying the anatomy of a bird is also a great jumping off point to deeper bird discussions too. For example, you can easily move onto different types of beaks and their uses or the various types of bird feet and their purpose. Anatomy of a Bird Worksheets

The Anatomy of a Bird Activity Sheets offers 6 different options to accommodate multiple levels and abilities. For those students who are not quite ready for writing legibly,  you may appreciate the 1st set that allows for your student to cut out the words at the bottom for pasting.  I have always liked the white and black versions too since many students like to color and I don’t like to waste ink! The last colored set offers more detailed parts of the bird. Most of the parts of the bird will seem self-explanatory. However, there are a few that may stump your kiddo. Use the answer key to help guide you and yours to learn the anatomy of a bird. DOWNLOAD BELOW!

Add Bird Books...

You could add all kinds of books to this bird anatomy study. This one in particular gives a more in depth look at the anatomy of a bird. Since so many students appreciate learning with visuals and hands-on activities, I thought this book would be perfect to accompany a study on the parts of a bird.
