We organized the workbook in a 3-ring binder to keep everything in one place. On the first day of class, I always have my students put their binders in order. We start with the cover. I have them color it and decorate it. Next, they use tabs and label them: Classwork, Extras, and Workbook. This helps keep our materials easy to find and well-organized. We try to include all of our activities in this single notebook for convenience. I plan to upload the articles, PowerPoints, and Planet Fact File sheets that we used alongside the workbook. Be patient… it may take me a little bit! The labs we incorporated are engaging, and overall, the class has become highly interactive with multiple layers of learning. I love this class.
This workbook will work for a multitude of ages Age-wise, my class included students in 3rd through 6th grade. I found that the workbook was appropriate for the age group I taught. However, I required more from my older students than I did from my younger ones in terms of brainstorming and notes. I think that the way it is set up, you should be able to modify it easily to fit your needs. I love that the page numbers are next to each question/section. This helps students to work independently. I am all about training my kids to work on their own when possible!
