We offer four Pumpkin Emergent Readers for free! Be sure to check out our large collection of FREE emergent readers including our word family emergent readers and our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom reader! It is always fun to print and read. My favorite emergent readers are those my kids can doodle and color in. Being able to print a handheld book makes it easy to bring new material to the table weekly! Students also love being able to take a new book home too!

The first amongst our Pumpkin Emergent Readers is our All About Pumpkins reader. It talks about how all pumpkins are different. Some are small and others are big. This is a fun introductory book into your study on pumpkins.
this emergent reader has a repetitive sentence structure and reviews the sight words: I, see, and the number words. It is 11 pages long. Students can color and doodle throughout the book. This helps students take ownership of their book. Be sure to check out our other counting resources in our Numbers and Counting page.
Amongst the pumpkin emergent readers, this one is my favorite. It may be because it has a science twist to it. Whatever the reason, the How do Pumpkins Grow reader has simple sentences, yet sequences the stages of a growing pumpkin from seed to pumpkin.
Some kids just like to color and what better way to teach the color words than to advantage of their coloring skills! Students will read repetitive sentences featuring the sight words: do, you, see, a, and the color words.
