Jesus is the Rock Craft #1

One of the things I love about this craft is the search for the rock. We first go on a rock hunt for Mr. Right… I mean, Mr. or Mrs. Rock. This craft is fun to do with a whole class or just your own kiddos. It is a low cost craft that other than the temporary chaos of constructing it, is rather painless. In the end, it truly is an original creation. If you are interested in downloading the paper strip featuring the verse Psalm 62:6, download here.

The second craft is seen with colored stones you can purchase from the Dollar Tree; however, you can use pebbles instead. All you need is 4 craft sticks, pebbles, white glue, construction paper, and a marker. To make this craft easier, I usually hot glue the craft sticks ahead of time so that my youngest kids don’t have to wait for the sticks to dry.

To start, I hand out the glued craft sticks, white glue, the verse on construction paper that I pre-cut, and a bowl of rocks. I suggest having your child glue the paper verse on the back first. Then, have them glue the rocks on the front. You can always add some magnets on the back too. It makes a great refrigerator magnet. This is a perfect reminder of God’s unwavering sovereignty. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore!

Jesus is the Rock Craft #3

The materials list for this simple craft is short. Just get some smooth rocks and paint pens. Give the stones a good cleaning and look for a smooth surface on the rock. My youngest kids ended up with some colorful rocks, but my oldest kids were able to actually make recognizable crosses. Later, they placed these stones randomly throughout my garden. When I happen upon them, I am always encouraged to see the cross. It is an immediate reminder of God’s grace.

What a great way to have the kids witness to others too. My kids have taken these rocks to the park and as we walk on the trail, we have placed them along the path for others to see. The cross is a powerful symbol to those who are seeking the truth.
