Letters and Sounds Homemade Bingo

The Homeschool Daily

This is a quick and easy activity to do with your early learner. Take a sheet of computer paper and fold it in half. Keep folding it into halves until you end up with 16 squares. Take a marker or pen and write a letter, blend, or digraph in each square. Now, give your child a handful of crayons and let them fill in the squares as you say the sound. This is an awesome way to practice and review those letter sounds that your early learner is still getting stuck on. You can continue until the whole sheet is filled with Bingo or stop with just one or two wins!

Elementary Writing

Creating a crafty letter does not have to be hard. Take whatever it is you have and be creative. Give your child cut-up construction paper pieces so that they can build their letter. Add some stickers, magazine pictures, or more construction paper cut outs to solidify the letter sound. Try using craft sticks or real sticks to form letters with your student. Letters and Sounds Videos

Preschool Prep Letter Sounds

The reason why I recommend Preschool Prep phonics videos above others is because it is the only video that I have seen that truly teaches all of the sounds a letter can make. For example, most phonics videos only offer one sound for a, the short a sound and maybe the long a sound too. But I have never seen a video present a as in apple, a as in acorn, and a as in automobile. This video does that. Check it out for free on YouTube or check it out for yourself here!

KidsTV123 YouTube

KIDSTV123 is an excellent YouTube resource for your early learners and it is free. We have used them with all of the children. I highly recommend them. The songs are memorable and catchy. They have videos for individual letters as well. Check it out! Happy learning!

Alphablocks

Alphablocks teach letter sounds, basic phonics, and the videos advance into digraphs, blends, and general word building. Great resource!
