Our Short Vowel Word Family Worksheets focus on 4 sentences per page. This is ideal for budding readers who are starting to read or aren’t quite there yet. There is nothing worse than overwhelming your emerging reader with too high expectations. The sentences are short and feature sight words and phonetically friendly words.

To create a layer of learning, we suggest you pair these activity sheets with the corresponding set available here, word slides, word family paint chips, word family emergent readers, and word family videos. A student is able to grasp a concept more efficiently when it is presented to them in various forms. Not every student learns in the same way. So, the more differentiation, the better.
