The Lord's Prayer for Kids

The Lord's Prayer for Kids

In Matthew 6:9, Jesus instructs us how to pray. It is then that He gives us, “The Lord’s Prayer.” The Lord’s Prayer is to the point, concise, and purposeful. Each line portrays what our heart should look like when praying. He calls us to be reverent, humble, obedient, and grateful. The Lord’s Prayer leads itself to great discussions as a family sitting around during Bible time. Break each verse down and talk about what it means. It is amazing to hear what your kids think about God and prayer. The Lord’s Prayer for Kids features some FREE printables and activities for you and yours to share in. *Check out The Lord’s Prayer Activity Pack where you get all of our printable activities in one click!

The Lord's Prayer Poster

The Lord’s Prayer is found in Matthew 6: 9-13. This simple poster is a great reference for your kids when learning The Lord’s Prayer. For durability, print on card stock and laminate. Use this poster on your morning board or window. We recently added two more posters featuring different clip art.

The Lord's Prayer Activity Sheets

These activity sheets are a fun addition to your Sunday School class or to your homeschool. In this printable pack, there is a word search, doodle sheet/coloring page, two levels of word scrambler (one has a word bank and the other does not), a copy sheet, and then one sheet with The Lord’s Prayer printed. With the printed Lord’s Prayer, I like to cut that one into strips and let kids unscramble the strips to put the verse in order. You can have them paste the strips onto a sheet of construction paper if you are looking for a hands-on approach. Answer keys are included.

The Lord's Prayer Fill-in-the-Blank

This Fill-in-the-Blank Activity Sheet is an effective review of The Lord’s Prayer. Use it with your elementary students as a quick test. See if they can fill it in from memory. Have fun with it!

The Lord's Prayer Manuscript Sheets

The Lord’s Prayer Manuscript Sheets offer your child the opportunity to fine tune their writing skills. There are two versions of manuscript sheets to choose from. Take your pick and be blessed!

The Lord's Prayer Cursive Sheets

For those students working towards mastering cursive writing, these cursive sheets may just be the ticket. There are two versions to choose from… one that is merely tracing and one and allows room for individual practice. Not only will your student practice their writing skills, but this activity gives them just one more chance to review God’s word… The Lord’s Prayer.

The Lord's Prayer Song with Motions

My girls love songs with motions, so this was a no brainer for them. For some of yours, this may not be an option. Younger kids will probably enjoy it, while your older ones will look at you and wince (more than likely!).

The Lord's Prayer Explanation for Younger Kids

This is a simple video that reads out the scripture one line at a time and then gives a simple explanation. Great for early learners.

The Lord's Prayer Explanation for Older Kids

This Lord’s Prayer explanation and presentation would be more appropriate for older elementary. IF the first video is too simple, try this one.
