The truth is, when we first started using this weekly Spelling Tasks schedule with our spelling words, my son used nothing more than a paper notebook that cost a total of $.15 cents. Paper notebooks were a steal that year! After talking to my son about our spelling approach, he thought that making Spelling Tasks Packs would be more appealing than just a notebook. With that, 1st – 5th Grade Spelling Tasks Packs became our go-to spelling system.

What are Spelling Tasks Packs
Each Spelling Tasks Pack provides your student with a weekly guide. Every day is allotted a specific task for the student to complete. Depending on the grade level, the tasks may vary. The amount of spelling words each week increase over the five years from 8 words to 20.
1st – 5th grade Spelling Tasks Packs were designed to be used with the free spelling lists from K12. The lists are broken down into 36 weeks and cover the first 1000 sight words. There is a printable Master Spelling List for all grades 1st– 5th.
After obtaining your word list, download a Spelling Task Pack designed specifically for your child’s grade, 1st – 5th. I typically print all the spelling sheets we need for the year and organize it in a 3-ring binder. You may find it wise to try the spelling program for a month or so to see if you like it. Click on the grade level you would like to learn more about! There you can download your own Spelling Tasks Pack and see how we set-up our Spelling workbooks! Happy spelling!
