Positional Words Cut & Paste Activity Sheet

The positional words activity sheet is a fun way to practice language skills. It is an engaging way to reiterate what the positional words, in, on, in front of, right, and left mean.

First, the child will cut along the dotted line separating the barn from the rest of the sheet. Then the child will cut out the chickens and place them where they belong based on the instructions. You may need to help your child read the instructions.

Where is the Worm? Reader

Worm Emergent Readers

Teaching students about positional words isn’t always an easy task. In our homeschool, we like to use different activities to teach this skill. Wherever we can add positional words in, we do. The “Where is the Worm?” reader features positional words and shapes. Whenever we can combine multiple tasks the better!

Tom the Turkey Reader

Tom the Turkey focuses on positional words using Tom the Turkey. It has 11 pages and features the sight words, look, the, is, and a. This is a great one to use near Thanksgiving. However, you can choose to not include the last page of the book and the story works without it! This one goes well within a farm animals unit too.

Positional Words Slideshow

This is one of our favorite positional words activities. The slideshow is fun and engaging. You can access our other preschool slideshows here. Kids tend to like this one and I have found that they often want to read it over and over. Which I think is a good thing.

Where's the Monkey? YouTube Video

All of my kids have loved this one. And if I am honest, I have memorized this little song. This is a fun and musical positional words activity. If you have never heard KidsTV123 songs, then you are missing out. They have an in-depth collection of early learners tunes.
