Do you have a budding reader? I do! Over the years, I have continued to add to our collection of emergent readers as my current young reader wants a new book or I see the need for one. I love emergent readers that my young learner can read, color, and doodle on. This printable reader was created to use with my kindergarten student before our Easter celebration. The reader focuses on what Easter is not about. Easter is not about baby chicks, bunnies, colored eggs, or candy, but the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Teach your child all about why we celebrate Easter with this FREE Easter Emergent Reader! *Be sure to check out our collection of FREE Easter Printables & Activities to share with your family and students!

What is Easter About?
The What is Easter About? emergent reader is 12 pages including the title page. It features black and white images to encourage readers to color the booklet. The sentence structure is repetitive and features words that are phonetically friendly… if that’s a thing! Each page focuses on one Spring or Easter item that can steal the limelight from what Easter is really about… Jesus’ resurrection.
How to print the Emergent Reader
The reader is in PDF format. So, to print the FREE Easter Emergent Reader as a handheld booklet, print 2 pages to a sheet. You will need to adjust your printer settings to accommodate this. I have printed 4 sheets to a page before to create a tiny book, but I much prefer the 1/2 page option.
