Blends & Digraphs Board Game
My girls love to play games. Truth is, my boys do too! I think games are a universal kid thing. There are times throughout our school year when we become lethargic at the mention of workbooks. Aggh. Sometimes we just need a change of pace, something different. This is where games, puzzles, educational videos, field trips and baked goods come into play. For my 5 year old, digraphs and blends are an irritation to her right now. She hates it when I ask her to circle the “special sounds” in a list of words. So, for her, I created this Blends & Digraphs Board Game. It is simple and just right for her age! We roll the dice and voila… we are playing!

Why the Blends & Digraphs Board Game
The best activities are the ones that invoke a love of learning and learning itself. As a busy mom of 6, I can always appreciate a game that lasts just long enough to be meaningful, but not so long that my student and I are wondering when the game will end.
The Blends & Digraphs Board Game is just right in terms of how long it takes to play. It also creates a fun and meaningful learning experience for us. This game is easy to print and play right away. You can use whatever game pieces you have on hand. We like to use two dice when playing, but you can always use just one. So, besides practicing our phonics, we are also working with counting and adding numbers.
You can print and play right away or print and then laminate for more durability. Have fun!
