Starburst Rock Cycle Pack

The Starburst Rock Cycle Pack includes a 3-page lab pack walking students through a hands-on lab experience using Starburst candies to model the rock cycle and its processes. Also included in the pack is 3 more Rock Cycle diagram worksheets/poster. This lab pack along with the short materials list is an excellent way to pull the rock cycle all together!

*You will need the following items to conduct this lab: scissors, paper plate, cupcake liners, 3 Starburst for each student, and a microwave. *A freezer or refrigerator can be used to quicken the cooling process.

Within the lab sheets, you will find a summary of the rock cycle and then a step by step of the lab. Students will start with a Starburst rock, transform it to sediments, change it to a sedimentary rock, then to a metamorphic rock, then to to magma, and lastly, to an igneous rock. This is an awesome lab to implement in your class after teaching the general principles of the rock cycle.
