Printable Valentine Cards
For a few years, our homeschool group met every Valentine’s Day to exchange Valentine’s. I must admit that I was the mom that bought boxed cards from the Dollar Tree. It was the easiest and most cost effective way to get enough Valentine’s for all of my kids without overwhelming me. That first year we exchanged cards, I can recall the Valentine’s made by fellow homeschool moms and their kids. They were creative and original. By all means, their Valentine cards put ours to shame. Now, I can further admit that we bought boxed cards again the next year. But in my mind, I thought that one year when time permitted, we would make our own. We finally did! How to create our Printable Valentine Cards...
My older kids and I made these printable Valentine cards. There are 5 different versions available. Each of my kids wanted to create their own. All kids are different, as are mine. So, with that being said, each set of printable Valentine cards vary in number of cards and types of cards.
1.) To print the Valentine cards, I suggest printing the Valentine’s 4-6 pages per sheet. Some sets will have more than 6 or less than 6 options. Pick and choose the Valentine’s in each set you want to print and go from there. I advise printing on card stock for a sturdy Valentine.
2.) After printing, cut your Valentine cards with a paper cutter.
3.) Lastly, address your Valentine cards. This is a great time for your younger kiddos to practice their handwriting. For my preschooler and 1st grader, making their Valentine’s took a few days to make since their little hands got tired from writing, “From __________,” so many times.
4.) Consider adding candy, a pencil, or in some cases, a light stick!
Types of Printable Valentine Cards
Sports Themed Valentine Cards
My oldest opted to create Sports themed Valentine cards. There are a total of 5 different cards. He chose to feature an athlete with one of their personal quotes next to it. Once cut out, these turned out really well. When you open the PDF, you will notice more than 5 pages, but they are only copies of the same athletes so that if you choose to print 6 per page, you won’t have an empty space (if that makes any sense!).
Fun Dog Themed Valentine Cards
My second oldest created this set of two funny dog themed Valentine Cards. I made sure to copy his cards so that you can print at least 6 sheets per page. My son has a dry humor, like myself, and I thought that these were clever.
Science Themed Valentine Cards
When it came time to make mine, I kept it simple. When I found the Einstein clip art while I was eating a handful of Smarties, it was the ideal combination. This Valentine combines my nerdy and sweet side equally! Pair these Valentine’s with a piece of Smartie candy and you are set to go!
Star Wars Themed Valentine Cards
At the time, my 2nd grader thought Star Wars was cool. Let’s be honest, Star Wars has been around for decades and I’m sure it will continue to be a favorite among boys (and girls). He couldn’t decide what images he preferred, so we created three different types to choose from. One set features bookmarks which is perfect for attaching glow sticks or pencils. The other two options are cards. One has Star War cartoon characters while the other has real life actors. We used a mix of all of them. Check them out here!
Christian Themed Valentine Cards
Both of my daughters wanted to color their Valentine cards, so we created a set with scripture and some without. You can choose to attach crayons, candy, or a pencil. I have seen these cards given away as coloring cards for the receiver to color. However, my girls wanted to color every single one they gave. The cards feature 3 verses about love. These are great for church, Sunday School, or anywhere!
Valentine Day Coloring Cards
These black and white Valentine coloring cards are cute! They are perfect for younger kids. Personally, I like giving cheesy Valentine’s now that I am older. So, I guess I could say that these would appeal to a younger crowd and over 40… ha ha ha!
