SI Units & Conversions Pack

Make teaching the SI Units and Metric Conversion easy with this Pack! In this downloadable pack, you will find everything you need to teach with ease!

The SI Units & Conversions Pack includes PowerPoint presentations. The first, What are the SI Units?, (40 slides) explains the International System of units and why they are important. It breaks down the SI Units, defining them, identifying prefixes, and giving sample problems with answers on subsequent slides. There is a free corresponding set of guided notes to accompany it. The second presentation, SI Units Quick Questions, (52 slides) is a 25 questions quiz on the SI Units and basic conversions. There is a free printable version of the questions for students to tackle beforehand. This is perfect for homework. Use the PowerPoint to check work. Also in the SI Units & Conversions Pack is a SI Units doodle sheet, Investigation Station printable pack, Conversions Reference Sheets, and 2 Converting Metrics Worksheets. The SI Units Doodle Sheet is great for those students who need something to draw on while a lecture is on-going.

The Investigation Stations: Making Measurements is a set of worksheets that will guide you and your students through a set of hands-on investigation of the SI Units using tools to collect the answers. The tools you will need to complete these Investigation Stations include: 2 cylinders, rulers, triple beam balance, thermometer, and other objects specified on activity sheets. The other items will be used for students to measure length, mass, temperature, etc.

There is a useful reference sheet included that focuses on the mnemonic device, “King Henry Died By Drinking Chocolate Milk.” This is a helpful printout, especially for those struggling with conversions.

The last worksheet set, Converting Metrics, is perfect practice in converting metrics. There is an answer key included.
