Table Manners PowerPoint

The Table Manners PowerPoint is a fun enrichment activity perfect for large groups, classes, co-ops, and families! Years ago, I used this Table Manners PowerPoint to teach basic table manners to a group of middle school girls. This presentation walks a class through a 20-question Table Manners Quiz. Each slide asks the students a question about their own personal table manners.

The very first slide instructs students to take out a sheet of paper and number from 1-20. Students will title their papers, “Table Manners Quiz.” Each question can be answered with a yes or no. The questions will break the ice amongst new students and will encourage discussion. After answering the table manners questions, the presentation will walk your students back through the questions showing an explanation of the table manner at question. Look at the preview pictures to understand the context. You may want to personalize the last slide to make it personalized. However, it features a quote by Clarence Thomas. This is a great tool to use to end the class with.

This activity pairs perfectly with others to create a well-rounded table manners unit. You may want to consider adding setting an informal place setting to your unit or lead students to create their paper placemats. It is always fun to host a fancy finger foods party too! Whatever activities you pick to teach table manners, have fun with it!
