Thankful Activity Book
This “What am I thankful for?” booklet is an interactive emergent reader. The Thankful Activity Book can be printed into full size sheets or made into a handheld size book. Early learners will love being able to illustrate this reader. The sentence structure is simple and repetitive making it easy for young readers. It’s nice when your budding reader is able to pick up a book and read it on their own (or at least try too!). Use this cute book to teach thankfulness and remind your students of all the things they should be thankful for.

How to use the Thankful Activity Book
Emergent readers are perfect for young readers, but this one is even better! Over the years, I have seen emergent readers that encourage students to color or draw shapes, but this one invites students to draw personal illustrations that emulate their family, favorite food, church, and friends. The “What am I thankful for” booklet prompts students to think about what they personally are thankful for and draw it. This is why I think that this Thankful Activity Book is so special. It becomes a one of a kind book about thankfulness.
Start your book off reminding your kids that in everything God calls us to give thanks. This is God’s will for our hearts. Oftentimes we take for granted the many things that we are to be thankful for. We forget that food, a home, and clothes are blessings and that many around the world do not have these things readily. In years past, we oftentimes only focused on one or two pages a day. That way we were able to really focus on our illustrations and talk about how the thing on the page affects us. Whether you cover the book in one day or a week, have fun with it.
