Christian Character Traits Printables

Christian Character Traits Printables

In the Bible, we are told that you will know a tree by its fruit (Matthew 7: 16-20). As Christians, we are known by our character and actions. It is important to teach our children that we are known more by what we do than by what we say… and sometimes, by both. There are a number of great bedtime books that can be used to highlight certain Godly character traits. One of the hands-on resources we use is this set of Christian Character Traits Printables. There are several activities to choose from to support the teaching of these 26 Christian Characteristics.

Character Trait Posters

Christian Character Traits Printables

The Character Trait Posters is almost a must within this set of Christian Character Traits Printables. Since the other activities build on the character description and scripture on each poster, you will want to print as posters or as cards. At the top of each character trait poster/card there is a brief description followed by an image depicting the trait. At the bottom, there is a scripture verse that supports the character trait. Students will use the verse and description to help them in the other activities. *Keep that in mind.

*To print cards, make sure to adjust your printer settings to print 4 sheets per page. I prefer to print on card stock when creating cards. You can choose to laminate or not. I have also used computer paper before and then laminated. You will find what works for you.

Character Traits Draw & Write Journal

There is one Draw & Write sheet for each character trait. Students are given a writing prompt and room to illustrate. Read more about how we incorporate this Character Traits Draw & Write Journal here! Download yours for free!

Character Traits Scripture Copywork

The scripture copy work features one verse per page allowing students to focus on one at a time. Each verse coincides with a character trait. The verses are King James.

Character Trait Cut & Paste Activity

Christian Character Traits Printables

In this activity, students will use the description of each character trait, which can be found on the posters. They will first cut the sight words at the bottom out and then paste them where they belong in the character trait description.

Character Trait Tracers

Christian Character Traits Printables

For your younger students, the character traits tracers are just the thing. Let your student trace the character trait starting each letter at the dots. I like to give this to my youngest students while my others are writing in their journal or doing the scripture copy work.

Character Traits Scripture Puzzler Activity

Christian Character Traits Printables

I really like this activity, but better yet, kids do. First, cut the scripture verse into strips of paper. Then give the students a sheet of construction paper and glue. Allow them to paste the pieces in the correct order to recreate the memory verse. If teachers are looking to increase the difficulty, cut the verse up into words rather than in strips of phrases. This is a fun way to make scripture memory hands-on.

Personally, I like to use this when planning. It helps me to keep up with the descriptions and scripture. It is a good tool for kids to use too when they do not have the posters handy.

This is an easy way to encourage the memorizing of scripture. Use it as a positive incentive for your kids or students.
