Meteorology Misconceptions Editable PowerPoint

The editable PowerPoint guides your class to brainstorm the word, “Meteorology.” After, it reviews words that may be associated with meteorology. The words listed are all weather words. This is an effective time to get feedback from your students about what they already know prior to the unit study.

Next, the slides walk the teacher and class through one meteorology misconception at a time. One slide identifies the misconception and then the next slide unveils the truth. This gives the teacher opportunity to discuss students’ thoughts about the statement prior to unveiling the truth. Look at the images to get a better understanding of how it is arranged.

Graphic Organizer

The graphic organizer is a basic brainstorming sheet with the word, “meteorology,” written in the middle. In the past, my students worked in cooperative groups to brainstorm. However, this could be an independent assignment.

Meteorology Misconceptions Note-taking Sheets

The note-taking sheets walk through the misconceptions presented in the PowerPoint presentation. It makes for an easy class lesson as it works seamlessly together. My students are asked to write the truth to each meteorology misconception as it is presented.
